Design + Science + ME

I’m a Vermonter with a non-linear career path and a wide range of skills to pull from. Thirteen years as a graphic designer, five years as an event designer and producer, three years as a bartender, and a slew of others in between. The skills I’ve acquired over the years are vast with a common theme, I inevitably find myself curating experiences and solving problems for humans.

I call myself a design scientist because I’m endlessly curious about all life has to offer. I have a deep passion for understanding and am always striving for the perfect balance of form and function. I don’t like accepting answers like, “That’s just the way it is.” I call bull shit on systems, processes, and social structures that don’t evolve.

As a design scientist, I aim to rummage in my bag of tricks to create seamless opportunities for all human beings and technology to live harmoniously. Most importantly, I actively place the mic in front of the unheard to ensure the future of design doesn’t forget its purpose and remains a dutiful practice for the good of humanity.

facts:

  1. I strongly dislike maple syrup, even though I’m from Vermont.

  2. 80% of what I own has been thrifted or is second-hand. It’s a slight obsession, but mainly a way of life. And yes, I’ll tell you the price of every item because it was probably a steal, which makes it all the more special.

  3. I use the UX design principles daily while parenting my 14-month-old twin boys.
    Iterate.
    Iterate.
    Iterate.
